- HOLIDAY TIME
 |
I have been very busy since I wrote my last newsletter. When I wrote my last one I had been ill for ages but I am now completely better. At the end of last term I went on a school trip to York where we studied the industrial revolution. I have to write a project about it before next term. When I got back from the trip we broke up and then I went on holiday. It was really cool as we went to South Africa. We went to Cape Town and also to Kruger which is an enormous National Park. We actually saw all the 'big 5'. Please look at my new quizes as I have now put on a quiz about the 'small 5'. We also went to Robben Island which was where Nelson Mandela was in prison for many years. I also saw his old house in Sowetto (near Johannesburg).
- THE QUIZES
The quizes are still very popular - if anyone has any good ideas for new quizes please let me know. I find it quite tough thinking of them. I am afraid that the last quizes were on quite a long time as I was away and could not update the site. I did try and look at my emails when I was in South Africa but all the computers were really slow and it was very expensive. As the shops charged for using them by the minute I decided they made them all extra slow so that they made more money.
- NEW QUIZ
I have decided to make an extra quiz which I am going to put on each month. It will run from the 1st of the month until the end of each month. On the quiz page you can find out more about it by clicking on The Country quiz.
- MESSAGE BOARD
I have decided to add a message board to my site and I really hope that lots of people will write messages. I hope that it may be possible for people to actually help each other. I have had over 1000 emails and it is really impossible for me to answer them all although I would like to.
- COURSES
I am still trying to get on some courses to learn Javascript. I hope to do one in the summer holidays. I am pleased because the local college is letting me do a course on Access 97. It is a one day course but I am keen to learn about data bases. I am also hoping to do an evening 'AppleMac' course which starts at the end of the month. I really need to get 'adobe photoshop' as they are using that software on the course. It is really annoying that software is so expensive.
- APPLE
The article about I AM DYSLEXIC.COM is still on Apple's website. It can be found by going to http://www.apple.com/uk/education/schools/imagine/barnaby/
- CRICKET SCORING PROGRAMME

I have written a cricket scoring programme on Excel which I am looking forward to using next term at school. I am the school cricket scorer and last summer I had to do it all by hand. I decided that I would try and write a programme so that it could also work out all the averages etc. I am a bit worried in case it does not work or that something will go wrong. We have electricity in our scoring place at school so I won't have to rely on the battery holding out for the whole match. I really hope it works well as I have spent hours and hours making it. It should (I hope!) just produce a result sheet with the batting and bowling averages all written out.
