• School's Started!!!
  

  Well I hope you all had a happy Christmas and a wicked new year. I have just gone back to school for another new term. On my first day back it started snowing and the school looks so nice covered in snow. I really cannot believe how popular this site has become - it is very exiting and it encourages me to keep it going and to keep it up to date. This does take quite a long time each week but I hope its worth it. If you know anyone new who would like to enter the quizzes on the KidZone it would be good. I try and put new quizzes on about every 3 weeks and I do get lots of entries but I am always looking for new people. My mum is teaching now so she often gives me some ideas so that the quizzes are linked to the National Curriculum if possible.

  
  
• Simple Sums

  Simple Sums is my lastest addition to the Mail Order Software section of the site. In all my P.S.'s at school last yerm I have been making this. So far this seems to be really popular. The basic idea of the game is to make any number of addition, take away or times sums. There is a section in it so you can change the opitions. These inclued the number of sums. What type of sums (add, take away and times). You can also change how high you want the numbers in the question to go up to. The sums can be very easy eg you could choose to have 10 addition sums with the highest numbers included being 5. The programme will make 10 random sums that would change each time you tried the test. Another great thing about it is the fact that you can print out the questions and your answers and then it is possible to keep a record of the users progress. This sheet also includes the name and date. At the moment this is on trial in a local special school in Surrey near were I live. So far, from what I have seen and heard, the pupils are really enjoying it. Please let me know if you are interested.

  
  
• YAHOO! Picks of the year 2002

  Every year YAHOO! Picks UK choses the best 12 sites of the Year. I was chosen for this and that is what the cup is for on the home page. YAHOO! are now advertising the sites lots and lots of newspapers, including the Gaurdien and THE SUN!!! want to interveiw me. I have alreaddy had about 6 interveiws and I have got on the BBC News website. Just from this one link I have had well over 4000 vistors in three days. During the first week of January 2003 I got over 12000 vistors just from being in the local papers and the BBC website. Wait till national newspapers!

  
  
  
• USB Key
  

  In the summer holidays I got a USB key to save stuff on so I can tranfer data from the school network, to my iBook or any other PC. One greet thing about it is the fact that is is just so easy to use. All you do is put in the USB drive in the computer. All computers now have at least two of these so if one is being used its still easy. The main use I use it for is for my software I make in VB.NET. All the school computers have VB.NET on so I make the software at school and I can take it home to do extra stuff I can't do at school and for the holidays and for burning it on to a CD to sell.
