• I had to make a big title for such an important event! I am now back at school and it is absolutely brill as I have now given up Latin and Greek. I really tried as hard as I could with Latin but I am afraid that I was not made for it! So that I am not totally without a language I have one lesson of French conversation each week which is fine. I do it with a teacher and one girl.

  On Sunday September 16th Richard Radley completed 'The great North Run'. He ran it in 2 hours and 32 minutes which was brill. Richard was running to raise money for The British Dyslexia Association and he was also giving I Am Dyslexic.com 20% of the money he raised. This is very kind of him. I will put the money towards the running costs of this site. I would like to thank him very much for his generosity.
  
  
• KidZone
  I do hope everyone has noticed the new look to the site. I have had quite a lot of visitors in the holidays but the numbers always seem to be higher in the term time. I am hoping that I will start to get more entries from people at school. Sometimes I get a whole group who enter the quizes as part of their Learning Support. Please ask your teachers if you can enter.
  
  
  
• THE HUNT
  
  This is a new comp that I have made. I have not had many entries for it yet but I do I hope it will be popular. It can be found by clicking here or by going to the new KidZone and finding it there. Do please enter as I hope this will prove good. This month I have hidden a pumpkin on one of the pages of this website and all you have to do is find it. The rules are all written out on the hunt page.
  
  
• TINTAVISION
  In the holidays I went to 'Tintavision' to have an assessment. I went to their offices in London and I had lots of tests. As a result I was given a particular colour that I had to make into my background colour on my computer. It was quite easy to do and I now have this background colour on everything. It even works in 'Word' and 'Excel'. It is only a background colour so it doesn't come out when I print my work out which is very lucky for my ink cartridge! I also have been given an overlay to put over my books when I read. I am due for another appointment soon and I will be retested and given a new colour (I think). I definitely have found the coloured background on the computer easier to use rather than the usual white. I will let you know what happens after the next visit. I am really hoping that it will help me become more fluent at reading.
  
  
• COURSES
  
  I do not seem to have much luck getting on courses as they seem to get cancelled or I am told that I am too young. Well my mum has now found another one! This time it is a Level 2 Visual Basic Course at Eastbourne College of Arts and Technology. It starts at the beginning of October and it is an evening course on Thursdays. I am allowed on the course even though it is aimed at 16 and overs - unfortunately because I am 12 I have to pay more than 3 times as much as the other people. In fact if my mum went on it she would only pay £107.00 but I have to pay £336.75 which I think is stupid. It is a funding rule - what a stupid rule - I just can't see why age is so important.
