I am now back at school after my long Easter break - 4 weeks! Our house is now finished and is really nice now. It is a really big shame that we are now selling it. Its now my last term at St Bede's School, Eastbourne. It has been really fun all my years there.



• SCHOLARSHIPS!!!
  

  As soon as I got back to school after Easter, I had lots of work to do. On the 7th of May I have my Scholarships to Charterhouse, in Surrey. They will be really hard. In the History paper, the head of History makes up a country. He then writes some made up history about it. This is a really hard exam to revise for, as you can't really revise for it!

  I am doing two maths papers. One paper that everyone does. The other one is the extra paper. You can chose to do this one or not. The other exams I am taking are Geography, English, Science and a Reasoning Test. I will have an interview with the Headmaster of the school. I also have an interview with the head of I.T. at the school. My I.T. will also be taken into account with my other exams.

  
  
  
• LAYOUT
  About two months ago, I changed the layout of I Am Dyslexic.com. I have had lots of response on the new style. Lots of people appear to like it. So I will keep it that way now.

• SUCCESS STORIES
  

  The success stories page has been a really big success. The stories people send into me are very interesting. They range from doing well in spelling to people with bullying problems to passing exams. If you have a success story you would like to tell me about and put it on my site please email me them, by clicking here.It really does not matter if your story does not seem really big.

  
  
• Quizzes
  The quizzes have been going really well at the moment. I have had over 30 entries per quiz level. They have been flying in. It is really nice to know that people are doing the quizzes that I make. It does take me quite a long time make a quiz. If you have any good ideas for quizzes please email them to me by clicking here

  Please keep sending messages for the message board - I do find it very difficult to reply to all my emails as I have lots and lots of work to do at the moment with my exams. After these I should be able to reply to many more. I will also have time to improve my site lots. If you can send a message instead of an email it might be much better as other people can see what you write and lots of the emails are very interesting and it is a shame not to share them. • MY SPEECH
  

  Last newsletter I put on a clip of how i used to talk when i was 4 and a 1/2 years old. I just cannot understand what I was trying to say. This time I have added another clip of something I said at the same age. There is a really weird word I keep saying that I am not sure what it means. If anyone has any iders please email me by clicking here!. Other people who also have problems with their speech and being understood might like to listen to it. My speech (I think!) is normal now but I had loads and loads of help when I was young. I started to have speech therapy when I was 3 years old. I think I now understand why I find foreign languages so hard - I couldn't even learn to pronounce English words like everyone else. Here is a sample of how I spoke then.

  
  
  
• PROGRAMMING and MAKING GAMES
  

  I have just finished my Visual Basic course at the local collage - It was a City and Gilds course. I now have a City and Gilds qualification in Visual Basic. Two weeks ago I had my exam and I did really well in it.

  I have also made some small little programmes for children. They are a sort of game.
  
  • 
    The first one I made was a Spelling Game. It can be used in Learning Support centres - my school has tried it out and also my sister has used it in her school. Polly (my sister) teaches autistic pupils and she has actually used the game and she says that it is useful. The game helps children learn how to spell:
    • the days of the week
    • the months of the year
    • and numbers.
    Each little level has 8 questions and the uses gets to know if he has spelt the word right and also they get a percentage at the end of each level.
    
    
    
  • Mouse Control
    The second one I made was a Mouse Control Game. It again can be used in Learning Support centres - My sister has used it in her school. This game helps children learn how to control a mouse.
    This is not quite like the Spelling game. This is for people that find it hard to move a mouse around the page and click on things.
    The first six levels of the game focus on clicking on still and moving shapes of dirrent sizes.
    The next two focus on clicking small circles. They are spread out diffrently.
    Then, in the last level you again have to click small circles, but this time you have to click the right coloured one.
