I had a brilliant day visiting Listening Books in London at half term. It was really fun and I even recorded a bit of a story for real! Actually I struggled a bit as I couldn't read what I was supposed to say! It was "Look Miss Jenkins has fallen into the fluvial flow". I was taken out to lunch at this really nice resturant with other people from Listening Books. They were all good fun and it was also amazing because Pete Waterman was sitting at the next table. I did not talk to him though. Listening Books is the charity that can be amazingly helpful for dyslexic people who are not very good at reading. They send you as many tapes as you can listen to for just £50.00 a year. Once you have listened to a story you just send the tapes back and then they send you some more. It works really well and has saved me on more than one occasion when I have to read a long book for school. |
| I had a another amazing day visiting Yahoo in London. Yahoo offices are really cool - the walls and furniture are purple and yellow and the whole place is really bright and fun. The people who work there are young and seem to have a good time. I was given this amazing goodie bag when I left. It was like Christmas when I unpacked it. I had a flying saucer (actually a remote controlled helium balloon) - this is excellent fun and I can steer it around in the air. I also had a remote controlled car which is on the same wave length as the balloon and so both things whiz round together - what chaos! I also had new speakers, a T shirt, a sweat shirt, a bag, folders etc. It was fantastic and such fun. Thank you so much to everyone at Yahoo - maybe I can come and work with you sometime? |
| I also managed to fit in a bit of VB training. Graham from Vbug was really kind and helped me for a morning. We managed to solve one or two problems that I had been having with my software. He taught me how to put 'divide' on my Simple Sums game. I will make an upgrade soon and let people have it. I am hoping to go on another course in the Easter Holidays. Thank you Graham. |
| I am really sorry if I have not replied to all my emails or put all the messages on but it is just impossible - I am really sorry - I have tried my best but I just don't have enough time. Thanks you very much for them all and I will continue to do my best. I have also had all the birthdays to add - I still have about 200 more to put on - I will get them all on as soon as possible. I must say a special welcome to Eddie Crane who is our youngest contributor at age 2 days! I am not sure how he knows whether or not he is dyslexic but he is very welcome. |
