It's now nearly the end of the Easter term - this term has really rushed by and I can't believe it will soon be Easter. We are not going away these holidays as we are doing lots of building work in our house. When I go back to school for the Summer term it will be my very last term as I am in the top year of this school.

• NEW SCHOOL

  My dad has just got a new job - he is the Estate Bursar at Charterhouse. This is a school in Surrey. It means that we will be moving away from here. I will stay at St Bede's Prep School until the end of the Summer term when I take my final exams. Then we will be moving - it is quite a good time as I am due to finish at my school anyway but I am a bit sad as I do like St Bede's.

  I was going to go on to St Bede's Senior School but now I can't. Instead I am going to Charterhouse which seems to be an amazing school. It will be strange to go to a new school where noone knows me and I don't know anyone - I am taking the scholarship exams in May. I hope I will do OK in the Maths and Science. I just do not know about the History and Geography - I enjoy both subjects but I expect they will be really hard. I am also taking English which I am dreading - I just hope I can do some of it and that I don't spend all my time just trying to read the paper! It is quite good as I don't have to do the Latin or French exams - that is lucky as I have stopped doing both of them as I just could not do them.

  Please keep sending messages for the message board - I do find it very difficult to reply to all my emails as I have lots and lots of work to do at the moment. If you can send a message instead it might be much better as other people can see what you write and lots of the emails are very interesting and it is a shame not to share them. • MY SPEECH
  

  I have just found some tapes of my speech when I was 4 and a 1/2 years old. I just cannot understand what I was trying to say. I am trying to copy it onto the computer and then I might try and upload it. Other people who also have problems with their speech and being understood might like to listen to it. My speech (I think!) is normal now but I had loads and loads of help when I was young. I started to have speech therapy when I was 3 years old. I think I now understand why I find foreign languages so hard - I couldn't even learn to pronounce English words like everyone else. Here is a sample of how i spoke then.

  
  
  
• PROGRAMMING and MAKING GAMES
  I am still doing my Visual basic course at the local collage - It is a City and Gilds course. I have got an exam next week. I have managed to write a programme for a game. It is a spelling game that can be used in Learning Support centres - my school has tried it out and also my sister has used it in her school. Polly (my sister) teaches autistic pupils and she has actually used the game and she says that it is useful. I am really just learning about making games and things. If anyone would like to try out my game I would be very happy to send them a CD with the game on. It helps pupils learn how to spell:
• the days of the week
• the months of the year
• and numbers.
  

  I chose these because I find them really hard to spell. Now I have made the game I have actually learnt how to spell them! Each little quiz has 8 questions and the pupil gets to know of he has spelt the word right and also they get a percentage at the end of each quiz. It does actually seem to work! I would be very pleased if anyone would like to try it out - If they are happy to send me £4.00 to cover the cost of the CD and the postage I would be very grateful.
